USB-IF AssociationLaunches New USB-C Cable Logo, 20Gbps 60W cable, 20Gbps 240W cable, 40Gbps 60W cable, and 40Gbps 240W cable.
Recently, the USB-IF Association officially announced the guidelines for the use of the new USB-C cable logo. It is understood that as early as the USB Developer Conference held from September 30th to October 1st, 2021, the USB-IF Association announced the new USB-C cable logo of the rated power of the certified USB Type-C cable for the ever-changing market demand and standards.
In May 2021, the USB-IF Association released the USB PD3.1 fast charging standard, which supports up to 240W charging power. Subsequently, the USB-C cable standard also ushered in a major upgrade, supporting 240W fast charging. Under the USB Type-C 2.1 standard, USB Type-C cables can be divided into two types: ordinary cables with a 20V rating and EPR cables with a rating of 50V. A certified USB Type-C cable will support 60W or 240W as defined by the USB PD 3.1 specification.
The above are the certification logos of the 60W cable and the 240W cable respectively. The color logo on the left is used to print on the outer packaging of the certified cable, and the black logo on the right is printed on the cable body.
In addition to the 60W and 240W power charging cables, the USB-IF Association also launched the new Type-C cable logo with integrated charging and data transmission functions. According to the two rates of 20Gbps and 40Gbps, it can be divided into four types, 20Gbps 60W cable, 20Gbps 240W cable, 40Gbps 60W cable, and 40Gbps 240W cable.
In addition, according to the requirements of the USB-IF Association, all USB Type-C cable logos must be used with cables of corresponding power and speed, and the cables must have passed the USB PD3.1 certification test and published on the USB-IF official website
